Estrogen and female aging

2024. 02. 28 Health Frontiers

Just like some couples who spend their entire lives together but may not necessarily know each other, many women do not truly understand estrogen as an old friend who stays together for life. We cannot ignore this close friend. From adolescence to the age of 30, estrogen levels will continue to rise and reach a lifetime high. As age continues to increase, especially before menopause, around the ages of 40 to 50, estrogen levels in the body begin to decrease.

Every healthy adult woman has the function of secreting estrogen and maintaining a subtle balance. Therefore, unless there are certain disease conditions, we do not need foreign estrogen, because although estrogen has certain benefits, excessive estrogen may also bring some risks, and our own estrogen is the safest.

1. The Growth of Estrogen

After supplementing cells that regulate female hair growth with trace amounts of estrogen, the number of protein genes that promote hair growth synthesized is twice that of cells without estrogen supplementation.

2. Estrogen for beauty enhancement

The skin is dull, you can imagine the condition of the skin a few days before and during menstruation. Dry, dull, lacking luster, and small wrinkles become more prominent. During this period, the body has the least amount of estrogen. Estrogen can activate the division of deep skin cells, quickly repair damaged skin, and effectively protect the skin.

3. The development of estrogen

Estrogen can promote breast hyperplasia, making breasts firm and plump, as well as promoting subcutaneous fat accumulation, widening the pelvis, and creating a unique plump body shape for women.

4. Calcium supplementation of estrogen

Estrogen can promote the absorption of calcium, reduce the excretion of calcium from the kidneys, and help calcium better deposit on bones, playing a role in preventing osteoporosis.

5. Fertility of estrogen

Estrogen can promote the development and maturation of reproductive organs such as the uterus, fallopian tubes, vagina, and external genitalia, and maintain them in a normal state. Due to the lubrication of estrogen, the cervix relaxes and cervical mucus secretion increases and becomes thinner, which helps sperm pass through smoothly.

However, although estrogen is good, one cannot blindly pursue high levels. After the age of 45, it is normal for estrogen levels to begin to decrease. It's too high to be wary of other diseases.
